Adjust your personality. Question your convictions.

As human beings we are people of mystery. Over a period of time we grow a number of values in our lives. Some serve us, most of us just restrict ourselves.

Your values shape your life You take daily choices, knowingly and subconsciously. You take actions at home, at college, out in town, little, huge, significant, not so essential, insignificant, constructive and reactive, all the time.

The choices you make are based on certain judgments. Including the type of food you want to consume to the outfit you want to wear, songs you want to listen to, shows you want to see, things you want to travel, people you want to see, people you don't want to see, ambitions you want to achieve, objectives you're going to give up, acts you're going to avoid, choices and more choices.

Will you agree?

Now these decisions are dependent on how you feel at the moment, it could be a feeling of being joyful, motivated, enthusiastic, maybe relaxation and inner peace, or something not so good, such as sorrow, pain, rage, remorse or shame. It will have an effect on your decision, no matter what the feeling.

Your emotions push feelings. You think about a certain image, optimistic or bad, encouraging or demotivating, vivid, pleasant thoughts or thoughts about depression and anxiety and, in effect, they build the correct feeling inside you.

So, maybe you wonder where those thoughts came from?

Your emotions derive from your lifetime mindset. Your overall viewpoint, your world opinion, how you treat every and every day.

A healthy mindset would mean that you are often packed with inspiring, hopeful and motivating thoughts while a negative outlook or disposition in life may find you struggle with disappointment, frustration, disillusionment... So what do you believe would form your mindset in life?

…. Your convictions Indeed, your core values form your mindset, which in effect defines your thinking and generates emotions that motivate you to make choices and contribute to actions that provide you the outcomes that you have at the moment.

What are beliefs Your belief structure is your language, it's an arrangement with you as the speaker, Don Miguel Ruiz puts it in his great book 'The Four Agreements,' the domestication cycle that begins even as you grow up.

Beliefs are powerful. They're you and somehow you might never realize them.

You may have learned of the iceberg hypothesis, or studied it. The acts and activities are like the recognizable part of a spinning Iceberg on the water. Your core values are like the big, unseen part submerged underneath. However, you don't see it, it's all the same and it affects you.

The Fast-fix syndrome Have you ever tried hard to improve your mindset and not been really successful?

Is it asked you to think seriously, and did little to change your life?

Most possibly, that's because you tried to correct the wrong part. First you have to become conscious of your undesirable actions and the biases that motivate the activity, then you have to try to remove the restraining factors. Doing that would help you build a safer, happier mindset and in effect would increase your thinking's consistency.

Start by modifying your behavior, and not the reasoning behind it.

Why do you need beliefs It's strong, it's your truth. We offer in all around you a feeling of purpose. In this universe they are your map. Without them, you will be confused, unwilling to consider, judge, embrace, implement something because you truly cannot understand it.

Your values influence the acts and behaviours. They can encourage you, they can drag you down, they can make you rise.
