Stylish Banner Types

In advertising, the best banners are the stylish ones that appeal to your target market. Not only does a banner design bring attention to your product or service, it also provides customers with information they want to know. As the information that comes up on the banners says, "What is my next step?"
The most common type of banner is the bright, small type. For this reason, it is often used as the main background for a promotional message. The messages that appear on it usually state the benefits of your product or service. They can be short and to the point, with simple graphics and lettering, or they can be elaborate and full of words, with custom font and color.

A long horizontal banner is also called a scroll. It may be fixed to the wall or it may float in space with a white background. It may have text or it may have a large image.

Another kind of long horizontal banner is the right-handed horizontal. When the long banner is hung on the right-hand side of the room, it conveys the idea that the room is for businessmen. When the banner is on the left-hand side, it will convey the idea that the room is for "entertainment."
A wide banner is a rectangular panel, usually hung at eye level, that shows some action, such as the movement of a person, animals, or objects. It often appears in sports events, where fans want to see their favorite athletes and other events.

A minimalist design is also called a cubist, and it is mostly seen in modern sales type advertisements. A white background with black lettering gives it a clean, futuristic look.

Hand-painted, vintage designs are found in a variety of places, such as family homes and public art. Most often, they are older depictions of people and animals, but you will find some with words. Many are romantic and are believed to have originated in the time of the Renaissance.

Vertical banners are colorful and very appealing to the eye. If you do not have a lot of space to display the same information on a horizontal banner, you can use one of these verticals to deliver a creative message. They can show various items, such as a photograph of a family, or a bird's eye view of the outdoors.

Old time movies also use verticals to tell the story. Often, the movie is shown from the beginning to the end, with the credits appearing at the end of the movie. This type of vertical advertisement has been around since the early 20th century.

Freestanding banners can also be used for business exhibition, especially if you run a trade show booth. Many exhibitions use them to draw people's attention to the products that are on display.
And of course, a banner can be just a banner. If you have a product or service that is not in demand, then it is just a piece of paper to be hung on a wall.

Stacked type, long format, vertical, and folded banners are the most common banner types. If you do not know which kind of banner is right for your business, check out one of the many websites that can provide you with some ideas and types.
